A Flick Through My YouTube History

Since I've been doing alot of beauty themed posts lately, I thought I'd do something a tad different and give you an insight to the weird and wonderfulness that is my music taste.

I'm extremely random and tend to go through phases where I listen to a variety of songs non stop from different genres, old and new, so I thought I'd do a post about the songs I have mindlessly searched on YouTube or clicked on when getting too carried away lately, because it happens way too often and judging by my history, it was obviously one of those weeks ... I also have the videos attached aswell so you can enjoy them as much as I do. You're welcome.

Little Mix - Secret Love Song Pt II
Not a bad start, its current and the girls sound incredible, their vocals are flawless. This version is minus Jason Derulo and his inappropriate dancing. I have always been a huge fan of Little Mix and it's one of those songs where you can blare it out and imagine yourself in your own music video. Tried and tested.

Ariana Grande - One Last Time
Okay so, if I remember rightly I searched this up after watching Gabriella's {velvetgh0st} morning routine because she was singing along to this passionately and it reminded me of my love for Ariana and this song.
.

Sia - Alive
This was her Ellen Show performance and she is actually amazing. I actually played this because I was watching Dance Moms and they mentioned Maddie being on Ellen and whether or not it was this performance I don't know but I must have watched this at least 10 times on repeat. What a talented, eccentric pairing.

Whitney Houston - How Will I Know
My all time favourite song, it's so timeless and it makes me happy everytime I listen to it. I also listen to Lauren Platts XFactor audition where she switched it up which is also incredible! No one can live life without the queen of Power Ballads.

Jonas Brothers - Things Will Never Be The Same.
I obviously was reliving my early, well, mid teens here. This is from Jonas LA which I was heavily judged for loving at 15. Guilty Pleasure I must say. And quite a deep song considering its Disney. Pure cheese, as expected.

Cher Lloyd - Oath
I absolutely love Cher Lloyd's music. Although I wasn't a fan of her personally, I found myself obsessing over her albums and this makes me wanna celebrate my friendships. What a sap!

Zayn - Pillowtalk
This was definitely a grower. When it first came out obviously it was like OMG ZAYN FROM 1D but the video is so trippy I was put off it. It was actually Conor Maynard's cover which made me appreciate the song and also I'm obsessed with Zayn and Gigi so their PDA is worth the mind boggling 3 minutes.

DJ Otzi - Hey Baby
HEEEEEEEEY HEEEEY BABY OOOH AHHHH ... Honestly .. Do not ask. No words. I think it was just one of those days, you all know what I'm talking about and you're secretly loving it, stop judging ...

Justin Bieber - Sorry
Swiftly moving on, this is legit my jam that without fail gets in my head when I'm doing date-checking routines on my weekend shift. It definitely makes the dull task more entertaining when I find myself singing out loud without realising. The video also actually wants me to go back to dancing, just because I know they'd be doing this on REPEAT.

Zedd ft Foxes - Clarity
I loveeeee this song! To be honest, I never appreciated it when it was relevant and in the charts but I rediscovered it a year later and it's been on my playlist ever since, I'm obsessed. Probably because I listened to the acoustic and appreciated the lyrics more but it became a high favourite.

So there we go. this was completely unedited I literally just flicked through my history to find these gems in between my favourite YouTubers. You can stop judging me now. To be honest that could have been ALOT worse, phew!

I challenge you to do the same!

What have you been listening to lately?

Album Review; Mikey Bromley - This One's For You

Now if you know me, follow me on Twitter or anything like that you should know I support artists that are just coming out of their creative shells rather than the likes of Justin Bieber and One Direction {who are still both amazing and I sing their songs 24/7} but also this is why it's tricky for me to be like "I'm a fan" because I don't feel like a fan of them, I was a fan of The Wanted, a fan of Little Mix but this to me is different and less cringy so I stick to the word "support".

Anyway also if you have followed me for some time you will know I stuck by a little band called Only The Young, prior, during and after their X Factor experience {they came 7th in 2014} but they have since called it a day and this is where this guy comes into equation; Mikey Bromley.

The 21 year old from Carlisle is heavily influenced by the likes of Mcfly {Tom Fletcher especially} Jason Mraz, James Bay, Joe Brooks {where he has even covered his song Superman to be a part of album} and so many other guitar-based artists which really reflects through his album; This One's For You.

There are 9 tracks; Miss J, Safe & Sound, Next Stop The Universe, Snake In A Mercedes, Run Away, Coca Cola, Laugh Smile Kiss, Girl On Girl and Superman.
Whilst they all stick with the same genre and guitar, each one has their own uniqueness to tell them apart, not to mention the smart yet simplistic lyrics which is key if you want your audience to be singing Miss J through an 8 hour shift! {thanks Bromley!}

As soon as you press play you go on his emotional journey from an encounter with a teacher to falling in love with a lesbian {i know ..?} but strangely the set list does tie in quite nicely together to make an easy-listening, chill album that you can either stick your earphones in and blast out or have it on in the background whilst doing housework. {this is from experience I have been known to dance around with the Hoover}

The one thing I love the most about this, is he's finally 100% himself and comfortable in what he is doing and it really shows, I actually saw him on Wednesday and he's never looked so relaxed and happy. I'm so proud of him.

So if any of what I have said appeals to you then This One's For You! {I'm sorry I couldn't resist}

It is available to download NOW on Spotify and iTunes or if you pop into your local HMV you will be sure to find it if albums are more your thing. Help this lad out to get the recognition he deserves.

Love you all,

My Goals for 2016

So we've survived it people, 2015 comes to an end tomorrow to make room for the madness that will soon hit us in 2016. A lot of me is so sad to see this year end I've had great memories; see my photo album post. Although it didn't start off great (I was unemployed for a while and was ill for 3 weeks after my 20th birthday) I started my new job in April and I've never felt happier in a place of work, we are all like a family. I've had ups and downs with my friends which has just made us realise how genuine our friendships are and I've met some incredible people along the way. I've had my heartbroken, I've had a fair share of breakdowns but the main thing I remind myself of is I'm alive. I'm here. Life is actually pretty great.

I didn't want this to be too lengthy but I have a feeling it will so if you want to stop reading just look at the picture above. This post is about my goals for 2016. Not resolutions because they are so easily broken and cliche. I wanted to make a list that will excite me when I tick off each one and won't get boring to do. So here goes;

Happiness
An easy, straightforward and ongoing goal. Well, I say easy it can be pretty difficult. Some days nobody can drag me down (NOBODY, NOBODY!)(sorry one direction moment) I'm happy and giggly and if i say so myself, funny. I actually light up other people's day but then I get dark days, I get anxiety, I worry, I get paranoid to the point where I argue with loved ones. But I just want that to change. I'm going to cleanse my mind and my surroundings so I just have positive vibes in this often dreary world we live in and appreciate what I have. As I said before; Life is pretty great.
To Celebrate My Best Friends' 21st
So myself and my two closest friends from school all have our birthdays within 2 weeks of eachother. One is 20th Jan, the other is 28th and then mine is 3rd February so we all tend to celebrate together, however my goal (see below) is to go away for my 21st and Becky is having a party so I'm going to ensure we all party that little bit too hard in honour of the 3 of us. We're all growing up, we've seen eachother's triumphs and losses and I'm hoping this stays for life.

To Go Somewhere Beautiful For My 21st
I always see people visit some amazing places for their birthday and this year I am determined to do this myself. My heart is set on a few days in Prague or Rome, somewhere with substance and history with the most amazing picturesque views. I have the week off, why not spoil myself ey?

Confidence
Over the years, my confidence has grown mountains but I still have a long way to go when it comes to believing in myself. But I want to put myself out there more, set my mind on something and achieve it, no setbacks, no doubts. That would be my proudest moment.

To Be More Healthy
A bit of a cliche, boring goal for you. I often look at the stuff I eat and it makes me want to go out and buy a bucket load of salad, fruit anf veg but no matter what, the motivation goes. And the word Gym? It's foreign to me and I honestly don't see how people have the energy or time to do it. It's not even to lose weight, to just have a bit of a detox to see if it re-energises me a bit. Small realistic changes.

To Visit My Best Friends Up and Down The Country
Because of the wonderful invention of the internet, I have been lucky enough to 'meet' some beautiful, amazing people I'm comfortable to call best friends. So I'd love to just go and spend some time with them this year. I have Sam from Middlesbrough, Jay from Southampton along with a few in London I've met at shows and meet-ups and even Soph from Dublin. Some quality time with my girls and boys in person instead of over the phone would literally be amazing.

To Do A Good Deed Everyday
Whether it's just a smile to make someone's morning, I think giving back to people is the best trait someone can have.

To Go To A Festival
As you know, I love music but I've never been to Glastonbury, V, Leeds, Download, Reading, nothing like that and I reckon the experience would be like no other. Although the lack of hygiene does panic me ever so slightly!

To Invest More Time With Friends And Family
It's not until it gets to Christmas that I realise I feel like I neglect my family and friends because of work or just because I don't text them once a day. So spending some more thought on them wont go a miss.

To Improve My Blog
Everyone has room for improvement so I want to make some personal goals for myself, because I enjoy blogging, I want others to enjoy my blogging too! New equipment, fresh ideas, collaborations with different companies, I just can't wait.

I hope you all have an amazing New Year, and I'll see you in 2016!!

Lots of love
